And now for something (not so) completely different

goat

Right as I write this: one more goat has been donated, as if the donor had seen the image I have chosen for this post. Nice.

I know, I know: This is not the place for that and it is not the content you expect from this blog. But: It is such a huge part of my life right now, that I have to tell about it here.

For the ones who don't know it yet: I am co-founder of Friends of Amani Germany. We support a children's home in Moshi, Tanzania, that gives a roof, food and education to street children. We founded it after some of us had been there. And, right now, we are running an action to collect money to make a farm. I have drawn more than 25 images, some of them huge, and my husband has programmed the site so that it is as easy for you to donate as online-shopping: click on the item (prices start at 5 euros), increase the amount if wanted, when the shopping cart is ready, check out with PayPal, finish.

We are having much support, for example from my friend and colleague Johanna Fritz, who is running an auction in Instagram (today: last chance!!!): She draws one illustration daily and gives the original to the best bidder. All proceeds come to us and therefore to the Amani kids. Look how delightful drawings she makes.

Or the Friends of Amani USA, who already donated some of the "big" buildings. And the oh so many single donors that we are having. See: We have made almost 3500 euros already, but there is still a long way to go.

You can partly see the development of the farm  here or here where we will upload some more pictures that my husband brought from his visit there last week. I would be so happy if this post makes you donate or at least tell about this story.

Join the mailing list and get updates whenever a new collection of drawings is out there.
